Message from the Vice-Chancellor and President
Your support makes a difference. Thank you.
In 2018, your donations made a meaningful improvement to students’ lives, to the progression of research and to the realisation of important initiatives at The University of Queensland.
Our University was founded on and has thrived through the generosity of people like you – people who had a vision for a better world and the foresight to carry out their ideas.
Your partnership with UQ continues this legacy.
Our fledgling Aspire Scholarship program is a key example of the power of donor support. In just two years, this program and its more than 800 generous donors have provided scholarships to almost 150 UQ students facing significant hardship and barriers to education. The program has re-opened opportunities for these students and helped them reach anew for their potential, after they found themselves in difficulty due to homelessness, refugee status, or loss of a parent, among other issues.
Our mantra at UQ is “knowledge leadership for a better world”. We recognise that making the world better requires initiative, guidance and the involvement of many people.
Every gift to UQ supports our students, researchers and teachers. Regardless of size, every gift is put to good use and is appreciated. As a donor, you have kindly led the way in creating a brighter future for others.
Thank you again, for everything you have done. I hope we continue to create opportunity together, and continue collaborating and working together to build a better future for our world.
Professor Peter Høj AC
Vice-Chancellor and President
